Hillcats Get One-Run Win at Salem
Lynchburg and Salem put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Lynchburg Hillcats did just enough to secure a victory over the Salem Red Sox, 6-5, at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Eric Blackman. Fearless Valdez collected his 1st save.

Lynchburg used the clutch hitting of Kyle DiGenova to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Hillcats the lead, 6-5. For the game, DiGenova had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Blackman, "but we could've played better."

The victory makes Lynchburg 19-47.
