Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Portland Hops got the win.

Vancouver got a decent performance from pitcher Dewitt Harris, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Hops. Portland won the Royal Port Stadium contest, 4-2. Harris threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winning pitcher was Jeffrey Robinson. He's now 1-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Hops. Vic Mallery collected his 2nd save.

Mason Stapleton, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Stapleton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Portland up, 3-2.

"Winning never gets dull," said Stapleton.

The loss drops Vancouver to 2-3.
