The 6-2 St. Lucie win over Oxford was due in large part to Jolly Roger Taylor. The Mets designated hitter went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gwynn Wilson earned the win to go to 6-5. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Logan Isaacs closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

With St. Lucie leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Taylor came up to bat against Oxford pitcher Brandon Payton. Taylor hit a sinker to right-center for a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Mets on top, 3-0.

"Good win for us," said Taylor. "Now we'll focus on the next one."

The third-place Mets bumped their record to 43-29.
