Keys Clip Mudcats, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Frederick Keys and the Carolina Mudcats, Carl Pedersen, who leads the ECL in innings pitched with 94.0, was the difference-maker. The Frederick left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Sebastian Hechavarria picked up his 2nd save of the season. Their 34-37 record puts the Keys 7th in the East Coast League Mideast Division.
Kaison Burns took Carolina hurler Maddox Fontenot deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Keys on top, 2-1. In all, Burns had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Carolina manager Robert Castro. "We just didn't cash in."
