The Winston-Salem Dash faced a tough opponent in Florida pitcher B.J. Hirst Jr., but did just enough to pull out the victory at BB&T Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Hirst Jr. went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Dash raised their record to 50-25.

Winston-Salem got a knockout punch from Yosnier Alejo. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We were the better team," crowed Alejo.
