The St. Lucie Mets topped the Florida Fire Frogs, 4-2, in East Coast League action at Tradition Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Lucie pitcher Vito Ruiz. With the victory, the Mets upped their record to 46-28.
Josh Kinney, who is tied for 7th in the ECL in home runs with 12, contributed to the St. Lucie win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
After the game, St. Lucie manager Octavio Collazo applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
