Mudcats Improve to 40-40 with 5-3 Win
|
The Carolina Mudcats picked up a win at Five County Stadium, dropping the Florida Fire Frogs, 5-3. Max LaBombard, who leads the ECL in quality starts with 12, was the difference-maker. Andres Romaine earned the save, his 18th. Carolina is now 40-40, Florida 32-48.
The Mudcats got a big at-bat from catcher Tony Johnson. For the game, Johnson went 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Carolina a 3-0 lead.
Johnson called the win "an overall solid one."
