A good performance from first baseman Herve Nichols helped the Lynchburg Hillcats defeat the Virginia Beach Mariners, 8-5. Nichols was 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Hillcats. Picking up the win was Tim Magana. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits.
