Hillcats Suffer 5-2 Loss to Pit Spitters
The Traverse City Pit Spitters tallied a win at Sun Sox Ballpark, throttling the Lynchburg Hillcats, 5-2. Starting pitcher Sam Gilliland was a big reason for his team's success. Jacob Kranz closed the game out for Traverse City, earning his 10th save. The 6th-place Pit Spitters lifted their record to 37-43.

Maverik Colon dealt the Hillcats a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Traverse City leading 1-0, Colon hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Gilliland.
