Mets Resilient in 7-3 Win Over Florida
|
Tradition Field was host to some action-packed drama.
A good performance from third baseman Brandon Chastain helped the St. Lucie Mets defeat the Florida Fire Frogs, 7-3. Chastain went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Mets. The winner was St. Lucie reliever Hugo Arroyo, now 1-1. The loser was Alden Alcantara.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Chastain hit a fastball from Alden Alcantara for a grand slam home run. The Mets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Chastain said.
The 6th-place Fire Frogs dropped to 35-46.
