Mariners Handle Salem, Snag 4-1 Win
|
Joseph Lewman, who is tied for 3rd in the ECL in innings pitched with 104.1, was terrific for the Virginia Beach Mariners in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Salem Red Sox. His performance earned Lewman rave reviews. With the win over Salem, the Mariners improved to 48-36.
Virginia Beach used the hitting of Mac Houck to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mariners on top, 2-1. For the game, Houck had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Lewman.
