With Late Score, Mudcats Beat Keys
|
The Carolina Mudcats in 10 innings beat the Frederick Keys, 2-1, at Five County Stadium. Starting pitcher J.J. Huber was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. Jacob Petty snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-2 on the season. Wildcat Ainsworth suffered the loss. Carolina, at 42-42, holds down 6th place in the East Coast League Mideast Division.
Carolina got a clutch hit from Nolan Dansereau. The first baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
Huber pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
