Allen Homers Twice in 5-1 Win
Traverse City left fielder Diondre Allen made his presence felt in the 5-1 Pit Spitters triumph over the St. Lucie Mets. Allen hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Aleixo Rodriguez, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-3. He pitched 8.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 0. The Pit Spitters are now 38-50, while the Mets fall to 26-62.

John Willett had a big 2-run triple for the Pit Spitters in the bottom of the second inning. With Traverse City leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Brett Gaul and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pit Spitters ahead, 3-0.

"I keep finding places to plunk down base hits," said Allen.
