Tarpons Cut Down Flyers, 6-4
|
The Tampa Tarpons topped the Cocoa Flyers by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Alexander Thorsell. Thorsell went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Tarpons on the day. The winner in relief was Steve Sotomayor. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-3. Charles Mathias earned the save for Tampa, his 1st.
In the bottom of the seventh, Tampa center fielder Ambrosio Piedra hit a run-scoring single to right field. The clutch hit made it, 4-3, Tarpons.
