Woodard Top-Notch as Dragons Stop Captains, 5-0
|
The Dayton Dragons got great pitching from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Woodard, allowing them to bump off the Lake County Captains, 5-0. With the loss, Lake County sinks to 1-6.
The win was credited to Woodard. He raised his season record to 2-0. In 8.1 innings of work, Woodard gave up no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 8. The Captains never could get a clutch hit when they needed it.
"I thought Tim threw the ball well across the board," said Dayton manager Jason Quinlan.
