Woolly Mammoths Get Dramatic 3-2 Win
|
Josiah Leigh was outstanding against Ames. The right-hander had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Woolly Mammoths 3-2 win. The win leaves Westside with a record of 2-4.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 23-year old right fielder Shawn O'Riley had a chance to be the hero. Ames pitcher Zach Graham had other ideas. But with one out, O'Riley drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Woolly Mammoths had themselves a dramatic win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Leigh.
