Loons Tack 6-1 Loss on Peoria
|
Great Lakes Loons starter Mason Bibee was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Peoria Chiefs, 6-1. Great Lakes reliever Kelsey Vong picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Elek van Buren was saddled with the loss. The win takes Great Lakes to 6-4.
Great Lakes used the timely hitting of Dylan Russell to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Loons on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Great Lakes manager Barry Tripp.
