Timber Rattlers Beat Ames, 3-2
|
Ames wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Flip Gaddis, falling to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 3-2. Gaddis threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. B.J. Villegas was credited with the save for Wisconsin, his 7th of the season. After losing, Ames is 10-10.
Wisconsin used the clutch hitting of Noel Green to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Timber Rattlers the lead, 3-2. For the game, Green had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Green said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
