Snappers Win with Late Heroics
|
Elwood Stillwell led the charge as the Beloit Snappers defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 6-5, in 16 innings at Harry C. Pohlman Field. Stillwell, who is tied for 5th in the MID in bases on balls with 11, went 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Beloit reliever Henri Boily, now 1-0. The loser was J.D. Serpico. Beloit goes to 8-12.
Beloit got a knockout punch from Zachary Holder. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 16th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"What a buzz," said Stillwell after it was over.
