Pitcher Anton Helguera was sensational for the Fresno Falcons in his team's 4-0 triumph over the New York Yankees. Helguera earned the win. Helguera got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Woody Jones.

Jude Meadows had a direct impact on the outcome. Meadows contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Fresno up, 2-0.
