Renyer Excels, But Chiefs Win
The Peoria Chiefs weathered a fine game by Ames shortstop Dylan Renyer to upend the Sod Poodles, 10-7, at Dozer Park. Renyer slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Alvaro Tapia came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. With the win, Peoria improves its record to 11-12.

Peoria took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Tomelty Simonian hit a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, Chiefs.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Simonian told the Peoria Herald.
