Fading Wolverines Lose 6th Straight
|
The Madison Muskies defeated the Flint Wolverines, 2-1, at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Asher Wilson was one of the standouts for Madison. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 triples, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 1 he knocked in. Madison reliever Luke Lorenz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. R.J. New shouldered the loss. The Muskies have hit the ground running, raising their record to 17-5. While it's still too soon to talk about Madison hoisting their 1st A Championship Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Victor Rosário, the 21-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rosário contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the ninth inning to put Madison up, 2-1.
"If we keep winning the close games," Rosário said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
