Kansas City Loses Again, 5-1
|
Pitcher Derron McKenzie was sensational for the Houston Astros in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Kansas City Royals. McKenzie picked up the win, and it was well-earned. With the loss, Kansas City falls to 0-8.
Burl Shearer, who finished 4th in the WEST in extra base hits with 81 in 2049, aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Kansas City manager Jose Juarez.
