Lugnuts Trump Dragons, 4-2
|
The Lansing Lugnuts and Dayton Dragons played an exciting game.
Lansing turned a fine outing from starter Martin Clark into a victory over the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field. The final score was 4-2. Clark picked up the win for Lansing, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Billy Phan got credit for the save for Lansing. It was his 6th of the year.
The Lugnuts got a big at-bat from center fielder Walt Ramos. For the game, Ramos went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Lansing a 2-0 lead.
Said losing manager Jason Quinlan: "Give the Lugnuts credit. They played a better game than we did."
Lansing, at 24-7, sits in second place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
