Baglia Excels, But Snappers Win
|
Jasper Baglia did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Lansing Lugnuts from losing, 7-5, to the Beloit Snappers at Cooley Law School Stadium. Baglia belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Lonie Short in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Estacio Prado took the loss. Vito Bautista earned the save, his 1st, for the Snappers.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Iván Saucedo? The Beloit catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Snappers on top, 6-5. For the game, Saucedo had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Saucedo, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Beloit now has a record of 17-17 with the win.
