Peoria Chiefs starter Owen Boni pitched his team past the Clinton LumberKings, 3-1. The save was Ollie De Los Santos's, his 6th. The victory gives Peoria a record of 20-14.

Peoria used a timely hit from Erik Costa to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Costa.
