Woolly Mammoths Post 3-0 Win Over West Michigan
|
The Westside Woolly Mammoths got a magnificent effort from pitcher Brian Bergfeld, who kept West Michigan hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Woolly Mammoths win at Fifth Third Ballpark. Bergfeld got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 1 hit and walked 0 over 3.1 innings. Bergfeld allowed no runs. The win puts the Woolly Mammoths at 20-22, while the Whitecaps drop to 17-25.
Westside used a well-timed hit by Luke McCulloch to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Woolly Mammoths ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
McCulloch attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
