Ames second baseman T.J. Wiegert picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Flint Wolverines, 5-4. Kade Williamson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Jax Beacham was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Ames at 29-23, while Flint falls to 16-36.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Wiegert delivered big-time for Ames, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Jax Beacham. The game-changing hit put the Sod Poodles on top, 4-3.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Ames manager Johnny Majorca.
