Fort Wayne Rallies to 5-2 Win
|
The Ames Sod Poodles could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Zuriel Poindexter into a win. Instead, the Fort Wayne TinCaps prevailed, 5-2. Poindexter threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. With the win, the TinCaps are 14-41.
Fort Wayne used the timely hitting of Wilbert Hester to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the TinCaps on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Hester said his team "played with a purpose."
