Quad Cities Beaten, 2-0, by Flint
|
Both offenses were feeble at Modern Woodmen Park. Fortunately for the Flint Wolverines, though, Noah Grimes delivered in the clutch. He was 1-1 with a home run, to help his team topple the Quad Cities River Bandits, 2-0. The winner in relief was Rex Burns. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Picking up the save was Angel Everett, his 2nd.
Grimes had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Brent Waters, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Wolverines a 1-0 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Grimes.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Grimes said.
The Wolverines now have a mark of 23-33.
