The 11-5 Fort Wayne win over Ames was due largely to Kyle Hudson. The TinCaps first baseman was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The 8th-place TinCaps now have a win-loss record of 19-39.

With Fort Wayne leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Hudson hit a sinker from Rocky Ploetz for a bases-clearing double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the TinCaps ahead, 4-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Hudson after the game.
