Fort Wayne TinCaps starter Zander Prieto turned in a sparkling performance against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Prieto, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. Truman Flournoy earned the save, his 1st.
Had Mose Curtiss not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Curtiss hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the TinCaps.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Curtiss.
Fort Wayne sits in 8th place in the Midwest League Eastern Division at 23-35.
