Led by Milton Hewlett, the Flint Wolverines downed the West Michigan Whitecaps, 6-5. Hewlett went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Wolverines. Zacarias Fogleman, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Angel Everett closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.

Had Tijs Veen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Veen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Wolverines.

Veen said afterward that "winning, obviously, is the main objective."

The Wolverines now have a record of 24-33.
