The Lake County Captains topped the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 8-1, in Midwest League action at Parkview Field. The standout performance belonged to Lake County pitcher and Hamilton, Canada, native Richard Campbell. Carter Elder collected save number 1. Lake County is now 41-23. Fort Wayne is 14-50.
In the top of the second, Lake County left fielder Étienne Poulin had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Poulin stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Lake County. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk. He scored 2 runs.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Campbell.
