Skidding Sod Poodles Lose 6th Straight
|
In a low-scoring game between West Michigan and Ames, pitcher Evan Frid was excellent. The West Michigan left-hander helped his team knock off the Sod Poodles, 2-1. The 7th-place Sod Poodles have lost 6 consecutive games.
Julien Castillo was the walk-off hero for West Michigan. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Whitecaps shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Castillo said.
