Captains Topple River Bandits, 7-1
|
Quad Cities had no answer for Lake County Captains starter Chase Savage, who flummoxed River Bandits hitters as the Captains cruised to victory, 7-1. Savage, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. The win puts the Captains at 46-25, while the River Bandits drop to 36-35.
It could have been a different outcome for Lake County, had it not been for Ray Hudec, the 23-year old first baseman . Hudec contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Lake County up, 1-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Hudec. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
