Snappers Lose as Sod Poodles Stage Late Rally
The performance of Saxby Nordheim proved critical in helping Ames beat Beloit, 10-8, in 10 innings. The Sod Poodles shortstop hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Ames reliever Brandon Domagalski picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Walker Fiducia took the loss. Yency Ávila was credited with the save for Ames, his 10th of the season.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Graham Dowell came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Beloit pitcher Walker Fiducia, he hit a 1-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ames on top, 8-7.

"We busted our humps out there," said Nordheim.
