Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Ames Sod Poodles and Great Lakes Loons.
In a tight affair between the Ames Sod Poodles and the Great Lakes Loons, pitcher John Davisson was in the zone. The Ames right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. Davisson went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 11. His record improves to 3-3. M.J. Prosperi sewed up the save, his 20th.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ames first baseman Brander Schmidt had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Schmidt stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 2-1, Ames. For the game, he was 1 for 4.
