River Bandits Win, 3-2, in Extra Frames
|
In a low-scoring clash between Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids, pitcher Leon Trauner was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Quad Cities reliever E.J. Berry was the winner. His record is now 3-6. Gordon Rauth took the loss. With the win, the River Bandits hiked their record to 37-36.
Cash Dawes, the 24-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Dawes contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Quad Cities up, 3-2.
"Leon was pounding the zone," said Quad Cities manager John Buff.
