The Quad Cities River Bandits took Cedar Rapids pitcher Robert Geoghegan's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The final score had Quad Cities getting past the Haymakers, 4-0. Geoghegan went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Quad Cities pitcher Judah Shaner got the win. He's now 5-2. Robert Geoghegan was tagged with the loss. With the win, Quad Cities has a record of 38-37. Cedar Rapids falls to 22-53.
The River Bandits got a big at-bat from shortstop Todd Gable. For the game, Gable went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Quad Cities a 2-0 lead.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Gable. "Just do my job."
