Woolly Mammoths Top Wisconsin, 5-4
|
The Westside Woolly Mammoths turned back the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 5-4, at Municipal Stadium. Tony Breaux, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Westside reliever Dustin Cuella was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Charlie Campagnone. The 6th-place Woolly Mammoths improved to 36-39.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Breaux hit a fastball from Charlie Campagnone for a solo home run. The Woolly Mammoths, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Breaux. "It was a great win."
