The Dayton Dragons topped the Beloit Snappers, 6-2, in Midwest League action at Fifth Third Field. The standout performance belonged to Dayton pitcher and Brownsville, Texas, native Broderick Murillo. The winning pitcher was Murillo, now 4-4. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Kurt Chisolm recorded the save for Dayton, his 4th of the season.
The Dragons benefited from an error in the bottom of the second inning. Dayton was leading 1-0 when César Abreu hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Dayton in front, 3-0.
"I loved our energy," said Dayton manager Nick Edwards. "I loved the way we played."
The Dragons raised their record to 38-39.
