The skies opened up and the rain fell at Fifth Third Field.
The Clinton LumberKings defeated the Dayton Dragons, 6-0, in Midwest League action at Fifth Third Field. Clinton pitcher Howie Mingee had a standout performance. The win makes Clinton 45-33.
Jerome Jones, the 21-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Jones contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Clinton up, 4-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Jones said after the game.
