Jake Stratton pitched well, but the Lansing Lugnuts still lost the game, falling 3-1 to the Ames Sod Poodles at Cooley Law School Stadium. M.J. Prosperi locked down his 23rd save. The Sod Poodles now have a record of 41-37 with the win over Lansing.

Contributing to the Ames win was Justin Rome. In the top of the first, the 23-year old third baseman had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 1-0, the Sod Poodles in front.

Rome told a Ames Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
