Indians Win at Home, 6-4
|
The Cleveland Indians beat the Vancouver Cascades, 6-4, at Tecumseh Field. David Carthens was 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. The two-time All-Star was a menace to Vancouver all day. The win brings the Indians to 3-8, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the seventh, Carthens had a key at-bat for Cleveland. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Carthens hit a run-scoring single off Fabian Crowe, making the score 3-2, Indians.
"Nice to get this one," said Carthens. "Wins have been hard to come by."
