Sod Poodles Need Extra Frames to Get Past Dragons
The Ames Sod Poodles did just enough to sneak past the Dayton Dragons, 3-2, at Community Field. Ames pitcher John Davisson, in particular, had a standout performance. The Sod Poodles saw their record improve to 43-40.

The clutch hit was provided by Renato Romero. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Stephen LaPrade in the bottom of the tenth.

"Every loss hurts," said Dayton manager Jason Quinlan. "But this was a tough one."
