The Ames Sod Poodles had to overcome a fine performance from Wisconsin pitcher Aimar Ferreras to grab a 3-1 win at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium. Ferreras allowed no runs over 5.1 innings. Cameron Morgan picked up the save for Ames, his 1st of the year. The win makes Ames 45-42.

Runs were at a premium. So, Austin Carol's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was crucial. The Ames second baseman hit a solo home run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"I like how we battled to the end," said Carol.
