Woolly Mammoths Claim Late Win
The Westside Woolly Mammoths topped the South Bend Cubs, 7-4, in Midwest League action at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Westside right fielder Shawn O'Riley. Elwin Robinson earned the win to go to 7-5. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Razan Shigematsu got the save, his 8th in 9 chances.

Oliver Woods came through with a big-time hit for Westside. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Woods.

The 6th-place Woolly Mammoths are 42-43.
