River Bandits Win, 6-5, in 10
|
Modern Woodmen Park played host to some dramatic action.
The Quad Cities River Bandits faced a tough opponent in Westside pitcher Elwin Robinson, but found a way to pull out the victory at Modern Woodmen Park by a final score of 6-5 in 10 innings. Robinson went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Quad Cities has a record of 45-50, placing them 4th in the Midwest League Western Division.
Quad Cities got a clutch hit from Edward Hamilton. The third baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
After the game, Quad Cities manager John Buff applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
