Lentz belts 2 home runs in Dragons Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Dayton Dragons and South Bend Cubs.
Dayton center fielder Gregg Lentz had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the South Bend Cubs, 5-2. Quincy Grant, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 8-4. Sloan Branham earned his 13th save, after closing out the game.
With Dayton leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Lentz hit a fastball from Bob Potts for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 5-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Lentz said.
The Dragons raised their record to 51-43.
