Cubs Rally For Late Win Over Dragons
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Fifth Third Field.
The South Bend Cubs got a good effort from starter Noam Bennett in defeating the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field. The final score was 4-2. Jesse Doyle came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-2. Earning the save was Hudson Bodie. He's now cashed in 3 of 6 save opportunities.
Zach Hicks, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2057 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hicks contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put South Bend up, 2-0.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Bennett.
The Cubs improved their record to 42-53 by beating Dayton.
